Der Ball kommt ins Rollen... The ball starts rolling

Wohoo! Deutschland hat 4:2 gewonnen, und sogar eingefleischte Nicht-Fußballfans haben mitgebangt und gejubelt! Das allein ist schon ein Wunder :-). Doch nicht das einzige des Tages: Obwohl am Vormittag Hektik und "Lampenfieber" herrschten, waren Nachmittag und Abend ein voller Erfolg. Wir veranstalteten einen Fußballparcour in der benachbarten Spielstraße mit Fußball- und Malwettbewerb, Kickertisch, Straßenandacht u.a. Gott schenkte herrliches Wetter, motivierte Mitarbeiter und jede Menge Kids, die Spaß an der Sache hatten. Kurz vor dem Anpfiff zum Eröffnungsspiel bekamen wir ein Kompliment von einer älteren Dame ( Einer Anwohnerin - obwohl die Nachbarn der Heilsarmee im Normalfall lieber kritisieren als Loben!). Sie fand es toll, was wir für die Kinder gemacht haben. Praise the Lord!
Auch bei der Spielübertragung herrschte eine gute Stimmung. Die Mitarbeiter des Fußballcafés leisteten mit leckeren Eisbechern und Co. sehr gute Dienste. Kurzum: Gott hat uns den schönsten Beginn für KickOff geschenkt, den wir uns wünschen konnten.

Wohoo! - germany won 4:2, and even real non-soccer-fans did tremble and cheer. This is a miracle, bur not the only one for the day. Although we were very nervous in the morning, the afternoon and evening were a great success. We made a soccer-parcour in a play street, with soccer - and drawingcompetitions, kicker-table and streetdevotion. God gave us great weather, motivated workers and a lot of kids enjoying the activities. Short befor the opening game started, an old lady from the (normally often unfreindly and sceptical) neighbourhood gave us a compliment - she said, she thought it was great what we did for the kids. A truly unexpected encouragement! Praise the Lord! Watching the game, we had fun, too. We enjoyed good food (icecream :-)). God gave us the best start possible for the Wordcup. To be continued!
